Technical parameters for skincare formulation development

Ingredient Recommended Dosage pH Range Phase Compatibility
Hydrolyzed Collagen 1-5% w/w pH 5.0-7.0 Water phase Compatible with O/W & W/O emulsions, gels
Sodium Hyaluronate 0.05-0.5% w/w pH 5.5-7.5 Water phase Avoid cationic surfactants; stable with nonionic

Application Process

Key manufacturing steps for skincare formulations

01

Raw Material Dissolution

Dissolve collagen peptides and sodium hyaluronate in deionized water at 40-60°C under gentle agitation (200-400 rpm) until fully hydrated (15-30 min). Pre-hydrate HA separately to avoid clumping.

02

Emulsification

Combine water phase (containing dissolved actives) with oil phase at 70-75°C under homogenization (3000-5000 rpm for 3-5 min), then cool to 40°C while maintaining gentle stirring.

03

pH Adjustment

Adjust final formulation pH to 5.5-6.5 using citric acid or sodium hydroxide solution. Verify pH stability over 48h at 25°C and 40°C. Avoid pH below 4.0 to prevent collagen degradation.

04

Filling & Packaging

Fill at room temperature (20-25°C) under semi-aseptic conditions. Use airless pump or UV-protective containers to maximize ingredient stability. Recommended shelf life: 24 months.
